REPORTER: I mean, you've talked a lot about freedom. I've heard you talk about freedom -- I think every time I've seen you.GEORGE W. BUSH: Yes.REPORTER: And yet there are those who would say, look, let's take Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib and rendition and all those things, and to them that is the, you know, the complete opposite of freedom.GEORGE W. BUSH: Of course if you want to slander America, you can look at it one way. But you go down -- what you need to do -- I think I suggested you do this at a press conference -- if you go down to Guantanamo and take a look at how these prisoners are treated -- and they're working it through our court systems. We are a land of law. REPORTER: But the Supreme Court have just said that -- you know, ruled against what you've been doing down there.GEORGE W. BUSH: But the district court didn't. And the appellate court didn't.REPORTER: The Supreme Court is supreme, isn't it?GEORGE W. BUSH: It is, and I accept their verdict. I don't agree with their verdict. And it's not what I was doing down there. This was a law passed by our United States Congress that I worked with the Congress to get passed and sign into law.REPORTER: But it looked like an attempt to bypass the Constitution, to a certain extent.GEORGE W. BUSH: This was a law passed, Adam. We passed a law. Bypassing the Constitution means that we did something outside the bounds of the Constitution. We went to the Congress and got a piece of legislation passed.REPORTER: Which is now being struck down, I think.GEORGE W. BUSH: It is, and I accept what the Supreme Court did, and I necessarily don't have to agree with it. My only point to you is, is that yes, I mean, we certainly wish Abu Ghraib hadn't happened, but that should not reflect America. This was the actions of some soldiers.______Help place the blame where it belongs -- on George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, David Addington, Stephen Hadley, etc. -- at http://www.michaelmoore.com/

EvilDarth, what the WRONG people tell him to do; the warmongering paranoid hawks in Pentagon. He never listen to decent, sensible people

Jeez I'm having trouble figuring this guy out, even after 8 years. Is he just simply a part of the conservative elite and right-wing ideologues or leading a brand of evangelical nihilists that are you drunk with power and want to dominate the world?

I think there is an opportunity like none other for America to see exactly how and why 9/11 came to pass and also what we can and should do about it. Astronauts have described their unique perspective in space looking at the fragile earth as being on God's porch. So it is perhaps no suprise that it was Apollo 17 astronaut-turned-senator Harrison Schmitt whose brave stand for terror-free air travel was the inspiration behind my efforts to stop both the 9/11 and 8/11/06 terror plots.

Even if he is the president, he should not be alone to be blamed for crimes against humanity. He has listened to advice from the paranoid hawks in Pentagon, sadly he trusted them too much. The lawsuit/trial must also include them

Agreed ghunghojoeno. He is a comedian, an actor and a warcriminal. He must have the same trial they gave Saddam.
