The Bill Moyers interview is more current than this video - it was done about September 19th. Phillips says we are maybe 1/2 through this, and that the next president will be unable to control the forces already unleashed.

Kevin Phillips is critical of both political parties. I have to agree with him. We are in big trouble, as a failure to back US debt with further investing by Japan and China would be a disaster.Phillips has an excellent discussion with Bill Moyers on the Bill Moyers Journal that was broadcast on PBS last night, and is scheduled again Friday 9:30pm and maybe other places and times. Not sure how that varies regionally.

I have to wonder if the thing that happened with Enron is now operating on the worldwide basis and running up the price of oil, and making a corrupt, evil group of manipulating financial criminals the richest most powerful people on the planet.

The American economy is a house of cards and the card table is starting to shake. He gave a speech at the Cambridge Forum in April this year which you should hear and which they will post on their site soon. The American economy is no longer based on manufacturing but on moving paper dollars around and around and paper dollars these days are made of flashpaper. Mr. Phillips is particularly harsh of President Bush calling him an extremely deficient president. Deficient hardly says it.
