Not sure what your looking for exactly but another term is "Arena Rock" and this particular song is called a "Power Ballad". Every band from Air Supply to ZZ Top had one in their line up back in the day. It is what defined 80s rock and that decade.

This is definitely a great example of the "rock ballad" that nearly every "hair band" had to have in their line-up. It was the best way to get the chicks to think you were really "deep" and emotional.
