Carrie, the sixties called. They want their hair back.I personally found this performance appalling. It was much too shouty, and she had the wrong emotion in her voice for this sort of song. Sorry, Ms Underwood, 2/10 from me.

Well, some opinions seem to be conflicting and dubious:She's singing a sad song like she just won a lottery - she did kind of : )Alone is about anticipation of love, not a funeral - overwheknubg crowd reaction says it all; oh, yes what do THEY know.HEART invited Carrie to sing Alone with Them. That says it all. Great job Carrie.

dude, carrie is 21 here, the backup singer is prob twice her age with more experience. this was american idol, 3 years ago. with her experience and her vocals beings streched out more now she can wipe the floor with this. anyway, its not only about vocal power its about tone, timbre. carrie's has the purest one. she did at a recent fan club showcase thats on youtube she sings this by herself, flawlessly.
