Hi Chris,For heat it could be your electrolyte is too strong & draws a lot of amps. You might also want to add some neutral plates to your system - that will help reduce the heat too. you only need about 2 volts per plate, anything over that turns into heat, which draws more amps.I hope this helps.Steve
