Dan was many things, a great climber, a guy who always wanted to push the bounderies. Yeah, I think he screwed up in Yosemite and that is why he died doing his rope jump but was quite a talent. For clarification he set up a static pendulum in Yosemite, left the rigging out in the weather for a time, then went up to use it. The rigging system failed. If you look around there is video of the accident. All the same to those who knew him,great guy.
