That's easy... songs back then had a meaning, and musicians could actually make music without special effects and digital bullshit.

I used to feel sad when I heard love songs/ power ballads because they remind me that I will never lose my virginity or find a relationship but hey, at least I can rock out to this song and feel a little better.

riverlioness if i could i would thumbs up your post a thousand times. I know exactly what you mean...and how it feels to be alone, and unloved...

Try "How do I get you alone?" - Makes more sense no?

One might get the mistaken idea women are passionless the way this song has been re-made. One person commented on an American Idol version this song is sad and you'd think somebody died the way it was sung...longing is beautiful...longing is sexual. This song brings tears to the eyes because it brings out the desire to be loved. Good music is alive and yearning!
