If you really think the 164 is anyhting like the equal of the 166 you're kidding yourself. Questionable quality, nowhere near the refinement, now poorly regarded and worth nothing from what I've seen. The 166 price is its biggest problem. People don't want to pay the BMW 5 seroes price. I bought mine second hand so no problem for me.

just bought my first alpha a 166 two weeks ago and havnt wiped the smile off my face yet paid £1200 for it and what a car it is 3.0 24v v6 glorious sound with a janspeed exhaust on it loads of luxury inside,mind you i wouldnt worry about deppreciation the fuel cost will get you before that 16 mpg around town gulp !!!!!!!!!

I Got One From 2003.I Runs like a Train!People who havent owned a Good 166 V6 dont know what they are talking about.Its a more refined Car then the 164,i have owned several!

Alfa Romeo however did a marvellous job on the facelifted model as you can see on this video. The front end and interior styling are superb! A big improvement over the early models. However it still hasn't been as successful as the 164. I anticipate the 169 replacement will be a winner first time!!

Apparently the 164 was much more successful! The 164 hit the bullseye first time! and was an instant success! whereas 166 didn't. I think the reason for this was firstly the questionable styling on the early models particularly the front end which didn't gel with the rest of the body but also it lacked that instant Italian panache and flair of the 164. I think the 166 being designed by German car designer Wolfgang Eggar was the wrong move they should have stuck with Pininfarina,Gandini,Giugiaro.

for some reason something about alfa that drags you and buy one even though you have the vibe that problems comes with it.i have two.. 156 and spider you really need to look after these cars...
