There's a reason we have a National Guard. It's to prevent civil unrest and respond to civil emergencies. The Army is for international matters. This is the first step toward martial law and there's no way to disputed that. Regardless of what one' feelings may be, facts are facts.

wordsdontdescribemeWhile I'm not for bloody revolutions, I do have a hope for a revolution of a more spiritual nature, where young men and women finally refuse to be cannon fodder for their governments. "Just say no" goes a long way, especially when you are the majority. I think we forget how many of us there are, and what power that has. Unless they want to destroy all of us who desire freedom, there will always be someone left to carry on.

Anybody who thinks there's going to be a US revolution. You're wrong in my opinion. It's not wise to hope for it either. This isn't the early 1900's where people stand a chance to fight... this is 2008 where the government has technology we don't even want to know about, that they will use against us. The best thing to do is go with your gut, and prepare for yourself, either to survive/escape, grow spiritually, and preferably both. Good luck to all!

I REALLY doubt a second civil war will start because of the state of our economy. One didn't start after the Depression, so why should one start now?

TheMarioBrosMy patriotic duty is to preserve the Constitution as it was intended, and not let it be allowed to be overrun by those who seek power. I am not fearful for my life, and have no need to have those around me be unlawfully controlled. I am more concerned with preserving my freedom and my rights.

TheMarioBrosThere's currently no chance of our government being "stripped" of its powers, as it has more power than ever since 9/11 and the Patriot Act. There are safeguards that were put into the Constitution that are there to protect human rights from government intervention. And sadly, those Constitutional rights have been tossed aside in the name of security. The point is not whether we are guilty or innocent, but that we are now being presumed guilty - the exact opposite of the law.

You only have nothing to fear as long as the government decides that your behavior isn't illegal. Speaking against the government already once was illegal in this country (Alien and Sedition Act) - it could happen again, and then the shit has hit the fan.
