I see exactly what you're saying, and it's true. But that doesn't devalue the message in the ad. It's a great commercial, with fantastic icons. Sure, some people blindly buy into it - that's the way of the world today. I like it a lot, but that doesn't mean I'm an ignorant materialist consumer. Don't post stuff like this and pretend that you're a savior speaking to the unenlightened. It reeks of pretentiousness.

This ad wasn't in any way recent, at the time IBM had the majority of the market I believe. Mac was completely different then, today I agree...I hate my macbook

this is disgusting. A profit searching company that sells overpriced hardware compare themselves to dead heroes in their ads. Apple tries to market itself as some kind of a rebel savior to the world of computers.This has went on for over two decades now.I respect what apple did with the ipod but this is just ridiculous. There's people who says stuff like "They ARE a movement."Branding has really fucked you in the ass hasn't it?I have a macbook btw...
