That's fair enough, sometimes its just a little nuts. But I still have time for him, he's a character that's talented, conscientious and well into his music. Lang Lang might be a frustrated musician, he talks in stories that he imagines but maybe doesn't experience while busily involved in the fantasy of the emotion of his music-making. Point is, yeah, he has antics! SO! I think ulyssesjj may be more appreciative of the mannerisms of Krystian Zimerman rather than those of Lang Lang, it's all gd.

the fact is that they are very very good pianists, but very few in this world are really geniouses.yes, one can tell when one sees a genious,it"s about their spirituality, their inner conscience about music and that is very hard to find.of course one could say that one preferes Barenboim or Brendel or whichever...but we are lucky to have such pianists as Lang Lang too!

Both are incredible pianists that deserve praise, it is unfair for us to be so critical of these great pianists, and once you realize this, only then can you grasp how beautiful this music is. Remember music is not a competition.

Both are awesome; the differenceYou call Leif " Dude, grab some beer and come over and watch the game!"Lang calls you: you check caller ID and grab a 2nd beer for you and Leif, ignore call- continue to watch the game.

I think however bizarre Lang Lang's 'antics' are, it's pretty harsh to say he is a 'programmed robot'. I can't think you would spend a huge percentage of your life practiscing and playing music if you had no feel for it at all. Maybe when he's 40, he will stop all the antics, start playing the Beethoven sonatas a lot and everyone will hail him a serious musician.

It's called Brian

Exactly...clearly you don't... but that's superficial in its nature. Why do you not, like his "antics"?... that's what perhaps is the question and may shed some light on 'things'?...:-)

I am not a frustrated musician as it happens. I just don't like Lang Lang's antics |
