im only 14, so i have never heard of this music till a few days ago, and i regret not being in the generation of REAL hip-hop like you guys. and yeah, underground is the closest thing to hip hop. i wish mainstream was dead, like hip hop

I'm 19 years old. 3 Feet High And Rising was released the year I was born. A lot of people my age listen to that bullshit mainstream, but there are still young folks that listen to REAL hip-hop/rap such as I. I do my research and I know where the roots of this genre lay. Artists like De La Soul and Public Enemy paved the way for current artists. The only difference is that I currently listen to newer artists for example, Immortal Technique, Typical Cats, Jedi Mind Tricks. Current day UNDERGROUND
