its called "kejido" and it comes natural to most gypsies, and no it does not ruin your voice unless you are forcing it to sound like a real gypsy :)

I saw Yasmin in a film @ the Jewish Film Festival in San Fransisco. She has lost a lot of weight since the documentary was made. I'm happy to see that she has progressed with her singing. In the documentary there was something about flamanco singing might ruin her voval cords, I see it has not....beautiful Sephardi Morenica with a beautiful voice.
