That last sentence says everything... For centuries both Christianity and Islam have preached love of fellow man and tolerance. But unfortunately, most of the preachings have fallen on deaf ears with extremists on both sides shouting louder than the majority in both actions and words. The truth is most religions are very similar. But "history is always written by those who hang heros" so the truth of the Crusades (or any other part of history) is only known to those who were there!

Spot on jonthewatch...this is a great song, it's what Chris de Burgh does well, the wondering minstral stuff. It's not historical acurate or a religous comment just a good story/song

The christians promised etarnal youth to the soldiers they died in jerusalem. And so they promise the bonfire of hell for everybody that doesen't belive in the blood of jesus. So my friend, what exactly is the difference between this two religions?

The point of the song is when will we finally wake up spirtually. If God was to come down from the heavens & ask every Man,Woman & Child how they lived their lives I don't think for one minute God would ask O by the way whats,your relgion? Its how we live our lives & treat others that counts not what relgion we practise.
