A player can't carry a whole team... + he's in his mid 30's now. But he's still a quality player that is still considered on a national squad. The England manager has requested that he plays in a European team while your season is over just so he can play proper football.

What do you expect him to do? 1. he gets dragged away... they were squaring off. 2. If he had gone for him that would have been a match ban or 2 or 3 (would be in England anyway). He's an experienced player... learning from a number of red cards from going for another guy in his younger years.
