... it`s the Bavarian name and first it was noted about VIII-IXc. Contemporary Wendland is something different, but name comes probably also from Slavs who once lived there. Wendland, Vendland, Vindland or Ventheland in different early German written sources, in Latin it was... Vandalia. Theutonicus was an old Latin name for German barbarians.

Uijuijui... You are confuse with something you silly... Hu, Norse Saga? There is not any "Wendland" inside! Wendland is a countryside in NRW/Germany ans still exist today and has nothing to do with Pommern, it's far away from there... I'm not a teuton, but explain you different german people seems not to be effective. Windische is the southern german name for slaves, not early german sources.

You mean Gedanum? Well, at least it had on its coins our Kings faces, you had Hapsburgs LOL

No, its from your old nazi book. Fact is that all the hydronoms in Poland comes after Vistula Veneti, in the early German sources Slavs are called "Wenden/Windishe", in the Norse Sagas Pommerania is called "Wendland" etc. Besides, names like Poland, Polen, Pologne are in the west, in Lithuanian it`s "Lenkija", in Arabic "Lechistan", in Maagyar "Lengyeloszak" and in the early Ruś chronics Poles are "Liahy"... mr. Teuton, where are that Germanic settlemnts?

Oh it's from your old comunist schoolbook? They don't need 2day any roman source's... It's fact!!! Only your different goverments did removed any traces of german origin, it doesn't mean, that they exist... Do you believe, the poles developed at the Vistula??? Fatuitous... Hahahahahaha!!!
mikolajoskierko (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Yes, are there any valid Roman sources about it, you do know that barbarians were illaterates? Burgunds probably lived in Greater Poland, Vandals maybe in Silesia and Goths... made a trip along Vistula Bug and Boh to the Black Sea, hard to find any settlements. Read also about Vistula Veneti... they weren`t Germans.
