google docs has plenty of privacy settings that allow you to share docs both within and external to an organization.

SPAM filter software runs on my PC or on my company's server and it doesn't show me ads. Also, I'm know that my SPAM filter doesn't analyse the content of my emails and link it to my email address for any commercial reasons. Google offer some excellent services and I realize that they have to generate income to do so but they are getting too greedy with this data mining and I simply don't want them personalizing my data and profiling me. So, im my purely personal opinion, Google has become evil

you're point of Google searching each mail in order to display related ads doesn't hold up. Spam filters do the same thing... ie, check your content to see if its spam or not. Its an anonymous process. using a similar process, to display related ads to content is no more invasive than Spam filtering, which i'm sure you'd not live without

Would it really be a good idea to host sensitive corporate data at a company which is in the business of data mining? Just look at Gmail, where the content of each mail is searched and relating ads are shown in the inbox. I sure can't see my company agreeing to that.
