i've heard that he has been a victim of racism, so he started to be more angry with people

Pretty much. I tried to meet him in the 80's when he returned to playing. My CBS Records rep at the time said "You might want to meet him but he doesn't want to meet you". I've not heard of too many folks in the biz that had good experiences with him.

I grew up listening to old records of John Coltrane and Miles Davis... this brings back memories of my childhood. Thanks for putting this up.

Protobuster asked rhetorically: P> is miles always angry?? When I was younger, Playboy (1963 or so) had an interview with Miles. I read it and recall him saying (paraphrase), "When I was in school all the prizes went to the boys with the blue eyes. I made up my mind I was gonna outblow any white M....F... alive" which may account for the anger you suggest. If he was angry, he used that emotion to do some marvelous music. Phiber Optik

Jimmy Cobb: a monster drummer. How the man pushes the soloists at an even tide. He started out with altoist Earl Bostic. Coltrane, by the way, also came from the world of R&B.I adore Wynton Kelly, but modal music clearly wasn't his bag.
