You probably never got to see The Clash live. The Libertines are good but never ,will be as good as when The Clash were at the time.....The time and the moment were a major contributing factor with thier music. Just my opinion.

they were influenced by punk though, political lyrics etc. and they emerged around the time of the punk scene (1977).they were a Mod revival/new wave band
