As all the comments above have said these aircraft and crew flew such vital missions it is a scandal that they have not been recognised,they flew french and british agents in and out of france with no defencive armament, at night each and every one of them are heroes.

And remember, the brave pilots who flew these Lysanders during WW2 used to fly by night into German occupied France and Belgium to pick up agents to return to England. No GPS,no ILS, just dead reckoning navigation, and a few lights in a field to guide them in.Wonderful pilots, brave men all. God Bless them.

Fantastic. My grandfather used to fly one of these during WW2. I never thought that I would see fottage of one flying.

Magical. The best air displays I ever saw took place at Strathallan and this brought it all back to me. Fantastic to see the Lysander in the air. Those were the days! |
