ahh kay, that explains. I was an Acer user once but trust me, the one I used was really really a let down cause it just entirely shuts off by itself whenever it's overheated and as a result i keep losing my homework... So yeah I just bought an XPS just recently and i was quite satisfied with it's performance. Anyway, I cant believe my school's providing macbooks to students at the beginning of grade 6 (or 7?)...

Before the XPS 1330, I owned the XPS M1210, so I am not new to DELL computers. I loved the M1210 but it was stolen around two months ago forcing me to upgrade to the M1330. I thought it would live up to my expectations, but it turns out that the design is not as durable as the one sported by its predecessor. Around this time I also became rather fed up with Vista - this, of course, means nothing to the more wizened XP users. So now I'm running leopard and it's really been a joy.

I left my XPS back for the new macbook. Before that, I had always been a PC user. The XPS was a real let down and DELL customer services treated me disgracefully. I had to e-mail top level executives - and quote two key legal precedents - before they would grant me a refund. That's why I'm advising people to be very cautious when approaching this product. Plus other problems such as the graphics card which burns out after 6 months are now well established. Peace out.

Avoid at all costs. I purchased one a week and it did not live up to the presentational glossiness presented above. For the most part it is extremely brittle, very non-durable, and oddly hollow in places (press the left side of the palmrest between your finger and thumb and you'll know what I mean). Moreover, it comes in at a very high price. For the money you are shelling out it is not worth it. I left mine back and am now about to buy the new Macbook! Peace out!
