Chairman Chet Edwards of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs denounces Republican attempts to derail critical military and veterans funding in order to try and pass drilling legislation that would do nothing to help with gas prices. Rep. Edwards reads the urgings of the veterans organizations not to meddle with the legislation in such ways on the floor, prompting boos from Republican Members.

But it is IRRELEVANT who the quote came from, because it is the idea of the actual quote Repugnants were actually booing. They shut their trap after finding out the quote was from the Veterans of Foreign Affairs.

Funny how Republicans were caught booing a comment made by the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. It tells you what Republicans REALLY think about our military when the interests of big oil are more important than our men and women in uniform. What's even more stupid is that a majority of men and women in uniform elect these Republican clowns everytime. There is no longer a conservative Republican party. The party has been hijacked by neocons and evangelical hypocrites.

alternate title : The soulless sellout bought out BIG OIL shills on the RIGHT just cant help themselves.

Dear Speaker Pelosi,Please hold the Republicans to account on this issue. Please show the voters who the Republicans really represent.Thanks.P.S. Hold Rove in contempt, and get the ball rolling on impeachment. After the last seven years, is it really that hard to believe that Bush may try any number of totalitarian tactics to stay in power if they fail at throwing the election to McCain? You do know that Bush and Cheney believe they're above the law, right?

Kucinich is roughly a democratic socialist and Ron Paul is an anarco-capitalist.
BlackKnight03 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Kucinich is the only real liberal in Congress as is Ron Paul the only actual Conservative. Look up the records yourself instead of listening to Faux News.
FilipeBrasAlmeida (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Ron Paul is a crank pseudo philosopher conspiracy theorist. About as serious as Kucinich.

What I wanted was for us to drive into alternative energy 10 years ago so we wouldn't be in this mess. You're solution to get out of the hole we're in is to drill more. That's not going to work. All the economical problems we face now are because of the Bush Administration and the Republican party's foolish policies of greed. It's time for another group to take over for the oil companies since they'd just suck us dry and move to another country. (Look at Halliburton)

HAHA!!! The republicans booed a quote from the VFW!!! Didn't the repubs used to bitch about non affiliated things attached to bills? Give-aways to oil companies that are padding their pockets should not be attached to a veterans funding bill
PConvictions (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
There are much more environmentally friendly ways to drill for oil than what your suggesting. And if the USA can produce its own oil and not have to rely on Canada or Venezuela or OPEC, then why aren't you for it?The dollar is on the decline in value, only because we use more foreign oil. If we have more natural resources in house, than we import, the value of the dollar goes up.
