As a flight crew member who flew (and survived) with Capt Bardo in practice just the day prior, I can assure you (and anyone else for that matter) it was truly pilot error which was the cause for this terrible crash. Loadmaster's Tim Matar and Al Dunse were highly proficient in LAPES, and in their memory, should not be held to blame. Please have respect for these brave aircrew members who gave their lives.

With ramp and door open the aircraft is probably doing over stall speed which is a little bit more than couple feet max and less than 165 kts. What the heck is an investigation room? Dont you mean Accident Investigation Board (AIB)? Maybe the VVI was broke and you should have fixed that so the pilot would have know what his sink rate was excessive and he would not have pancaked the bird into the ground?

Platform is unlocked for AFT movement per checklist proceedure. Got to be really stupid or retarded to put the locks in a position to let the platform roll forward. I mean really fucking stupid or retarded to do that. Really, if you had 15+ tonnes of M551 rolling forward, would the aircraft have been able to level out before impact? |
