Jean-Baptiste Arban? How about Gottfried Reiche? First famous one...of what era?

Well obviously he wasn't the first soloist ever, that'd be ridiculous to say, but he was the first trumpet soloist to really gain a lot of recognition and fame, that's all I'm saying.

In what century? Trumpet has been around for centuries and great composers have been witting concerti an sonatas for it....The first trumpet player of...what?

How do you not figure the first? He may not be the first ever but he was the first to really bring a lot of attention to the trumpet as a solo instrument.

The fact that these are all in the brilliant high(ish) register help. Maybe it is just me but I find that I can go measure after measure with no breath on the staff or above, it is when I get low staff or below the staff that I start either dying or wishing the composer would.

How do you figure the first?

He is playing a Segovian jot

Piece of cake, I can play like that half drunk, or maybe being half drunk makes me think I can. Actually beyond belief.

Tee tee kee isn't different from tu tu ku or ta ta ka, they put those vowels in to make you think of the "ee" sound and that makes your lips and tongue move cleaner and quicker. It's good that you use the Arban method.
