I never said i was right, i said i think! It still wouldn't be crude because it would be implied, but whatever. Comedy is subjective, just because you don't like crude humour it doesn't mean that it wasn't cleverly thought out (if it's done correctly)

You are wrong. See my other reply. They weren't as crude as that in those days. The script writers then were capable of genuine word-play jokes which were funny without being crude, unlike most of today's script writers.

I've answered this before. There are two types of bill hook: one is a type of axe for cutting hedges and coppicing and the other is a desk device with a sharp point on which one places ones bills (invoices). aI hope that clarifies.Chris.
