why are you so sure that it will be cheap (cheap energy is what the world needs and yes nuclear energy is cheap), technically its possible to build a nuclear fusion reactor that provides more energy than it consumes, but it would of a giantic size and completle not cost effective

i agree with you 100% but when the nuclear fuzion comes out we will have unlimited, totaly safe ,totaly clean, almost to cheap to measure electricity.

Another reason to say this because when you make electricity from wind turbines the frequency and the performance are vibrating in the power grid when a turbine is connecting and disconnecting to the grid. You have to build conventional power plants next to the wind turbines to compensate the same performance into the grid btw I'm not against wind turbines but the future is for nuclear plants. Wind wheels are really useful for houses to recharge your batteries or do st like that.

Nuclear energy does not pollutes air like conventional power plants and gives performance at every time. The problem of nuclear wastes can be solved by transmute them in fast reactors and they will be usable again in thermical reactors. That power plant in Chernobil was an old construction called RBMK. But there are no one of them produced in the world, every modern reactors are PWR, BWR and CANDU typed reactors. So do not worry!

I don't know where you live, but by me and eslwhere in the US where they were shot down, these THINGS were going to be miles off shore.
