One question..are taiji movements aimed to reflect qian and kun in the sense of qian rising and kun sinking? I have a hard time applying these philosophies to physical movements. Do you have any suggestions for material on this subject? I am greatly interested in understanding yin/yang balance in taiji as represented in movements.

Tai Chi is a good practice for mind-body wellness. It makes people feel better. I use videos to share my teaching with other instructors, remote area students who have no teacher around, ....

From Yi-jing, Bagua represents the changes. If you see the 8 sides as a whole, they are yin/yang balanced! The solid three lines is qian (sky), balanced with the broken three lines kun (earth). ...... Hope some other people can answer you better!
