Questions: Are the living conditions for soldiers recieving this "BAH" vs. soldiers in the barracks comparable? Also, how do the soldiers living conditions who live in on post homes vs. barracks soldiers compare?

This is an outrage, nice way to take care of our servicemen. Former USA paratrooper, 12th SFG(A)

I know of former soldiers working for a private contractor in Iraq. They make over $500 a day. Yes, that is $500 and DAY. NO TYPO. But we can't get these guys new barracks. Or at least BAH until they get suitable living conditions? SAD.

13 years in the Army and you're talking like this? You don't have the respect of your soldiers do you? Then again, you're probably a 13 year E4.

Great video. You are completely right. People use dead soldiers to compare this too, don't understand that the US is spending billions on secret programs, but cant spend money on respect for these guys. It's not only the housing, its even more the treatment of injured soldiers, and the completely lack of attention for these heroes to get back to society. It's obvious to me the government that privatly makes huge amounts of money through companies profiting from the war, just doesn't give a crap

This was never about "soldiers should be tough enough to take it" it was about the respect we owe these soldiers.

I'm surprised you didn't get the typical "You weren't a soldier!" line from ed for saying bad barracks are livable.

Do you know whats unbecoming? An American platoon of 39 men spending 15 months in the mountains of Afghanistan, where 20 out of 39 of them hit IED's (road side bombs) and then coming home and forced to live in barracks like this. This was not done because it was just my son, it was done because I looked at all these kids as my son.People like you and the two posts below disgust me. |
