In response to this: "the main train will definitely de-accelerate as it struggles to haul a new cabin of people from 0 to 150+ mph."The car that is detaching accelerates towards the rear of the train before the new car is picked up. This backwards acceleration will speed up the train by roughly the same amount that the new car slows it down, all things being equal. This is definitely -not- a stupid idea and deserves a chance to prove itself.

This is a very cool idea. Could be extended to other, more normal systems like two trains joining up (would need each car to have its own power/control system).Cool concept.

And such a mini-train system will cost hundreds of millions to develop! it's a very complex system. We are talking about instant acceleration and slow-down between 0 and 150+ mph(that's speeds of fighter jets takingboff and landing on aircraft cattiers), not to mention avoiding collision of the two mini-trains on top!

Stupid idea. the main train will definitely de-accelerate as it struggles to haul a new cabin of people from 0 to 150+ mph. And imagine everyone throughout the train has to get to the central cabin in time - that'll take at least 10-15 minutes in advance. Not worth the hassle.

wtf, this video says the idea is from a guy from mainland China, NOT Taiwan!Don't take other's credit...

What about if you wanted to get off at the next stop?

A train hobo already pioneered this idea for over a century now.

that's pretty cool but I hope you don't get whiplash or have the mini train fall off the main one...
cjracer1000 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
and also its stupid cause people like being able to have time to de-board
