It's called electrical discharge machining.

be sure not to get shocked by the thing... 3 amps is way over the limit to kill you...

Mad scientist over here xD the reason the finished product is smaller than you mark it is b/c when it eats away at the etch it eats the side as well...you will notice there is no paint on the side after it cuts it, which lets it eat away at it. I dont know how safe adding H2SO4(sulfuric acid) would be, but yea it would go faster...a little. The bubbles you see from the negative are only hydrogen, the positive is only oxygen...you could make picks and breath fresh air at the same time xD

No them seem plenty strong but getting a uniform cut is difficult. Anyplace the paint doesn't stick to the metal causes it to pit. I only use the method now to make a gross outline on a hacksaw to save a lot of grinding.

i can see how that works, but doesn't this method end up making the picks weaker?

do u have to use spray paint and how does it only cut one part of the blade plz help
Curixq (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
cool, but I will try it with a little bit of H2SO4, I think this would go much fasterI will try it this weekend.

the saltwater + electricity corroded away the part he etched and so cut out the part he didn';t want

excuse me but I can't speak English well, so I just can't understand how to make this picks, to give them form. I just understand that we need blades, paint, saltwater and battery, but what must we do before putting them in water??

I think you could give the "shape" spraying it after have glue an "inverted mask" of the lockpick tool. Who agree with me?In this way you can spray the same shape on both face of the blade. |
